Nearly all of the works involve some type of indeterminacy or openness, either in their compositional process, their realization or both.

Traditional score is frequently replaced by sets of materials containing guidelines for realizing the piece. Real-time decisions, listening cues and performer interaction affect what happens in every performance of a piece.

An ongoing group of works, the mobiles, begun in 2003, sees a new mobile - with a unique instrumentation and type of openness - written each year.
